I love newborn portraits because the newborn season is unlike any other. Something about adjusting to the rhythms of a little baby slows life down. Like a gift, it gives us space to prepare our hearts and homes for new routines and our new roles as parents. That gentle pause invites us to be a little more present and soak up these fleeting moments. Newborn portraits can help parents lean into that pause, setting aside intentional time to enjoy and honor your new little one and the blessing they bring to your family.

I was so honored to photograph the newborn season for Lindsay and Matt. The Wittels welcomed Lucy, a little girl as cute as her name, at the end of the summer. As Lucy gets older, it will be harder and harder to remember how small her little hands were, what her baby hair was like, and just how little she looked in their arms. I hope these photos bless them over and over as they look back at her early days, the days they were all learning and growing in love.
