Natalie and Jered were married in August at Laurel Hall, a gorgeous Indianapolis estate turned event venue. Laurel Hall is described as “Classic elegance on a grand scale” and that was certainly true for the Schenk celebration. Natalie is an event planner. Not only did she plan the wedding herself, she also designed and decorated much of it. The soft pinks, champagne, and ivory colors were a perfect match for this timeless, romantic celebration.
Speaking of romance, the most romantic part of the day (and my favorite part) was the moment Natalie snuck down the grand staircase to the solarium to share a first look with her groom. Jered waited patiently for his bride to make her way down to him, and the moment he saw her was magical. They shared the sweetest embrace and 15 minutes alone together to read their personal vows.
I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Natalie and Jered before their wedding day. In some ways, photographing a couple you’ve never met as they are getting married is a really interesting and special experience. It’s like a crash course on their relationship. You learn so much about their love story in 8-10 hours. What stood out to me right away is the strong foundation of Natalie and Jered’s relationship is their mutual, unwavering support for each other. That support was communicated all day long in their vows, in acts of service, in gifts, and in stolen kisses and glances. They take care of each other. They value each other’s dreams and responsibilities and do what they can to lift each other up. What a beautiful life they’ll lead as they continue to support one another.
Natalie & Jered – Your day was beautiful in every way! Thank you for inviting Niko and me to experience and document the richness of your love! We’re excited to see you again to celebrate your anniversary session! – Love, Kate
