“Appreciative of every moment given together.” That’s what Allie and Jake said when I asked them to describe themselves.
This sweet couple met in high school. They’ve been together for a long time – even while enduring years of distance during college. They waited so patiently for their wedding day to arrive, so when Covid-19 put a big question mark on their wedding date, my heart sank a little. Despite everything, Allie and Jake have been an amazing team. They rolled with the punches with grace in their hearts and smiles on their faces. Luckily they were able to have their church wedding on their original date. Even though their day didn’t look quite like they planned, they were so joyful. I think so much of that has to do with how appreciative they are to be together. They’re so full of gratitude. What a breath of fresh air it is to witness!
Allie and Jake were married on June 20th at St. Barnabas Church in Northfield. Watching them become husband and wife was as beautiful and emotional as I thought it would be. Even though all their guests couldn’t be with them, they live recorded the ceremony to include their loved ones in the celebration. Afterward we headed to the Cleveland Museum of Art for some more traditional wedding party and bride and groom portraits. That’s always such a fun part of the day! Allie & Jake – From our very first conversation at Panera, I’ve loved your heart for each other and the people in your lives. Over and over, you’ve demonstrated how love endures all things. Thank you for letting me be the one to visually celebrate your story. I can’t wait to relive the fun during your reception next June. – Love, Kate
