One of the best and most important parts of my job as a wedding photographer is to know my couples. Listening to the details of their story not only helps me connect with them personally, it allows me to photograph them more authentically. I ask all my couples a few questions when we begin the process of working together.
I asked Takara and Kevin how long it was before they thought they’d end up together. Kevin response?
“When I saw her get off the elevator for the first time.”
I’ve asked that question dozens of times, and I love to hear the answers. Some couples are friends for years before realizing they belong together. Some know in the first few dates. Every couple’s journey is special and unique. I couldn’t help but smile extra wide, though, at the honesty and enthusiasm in Kevin’s answer.
As you look through their portrait session in German Village and downtown Columbus, I hope you’ll pay close attention to the photos that show Kevin and Takara’s real emotion. These two are smitten. It’s written all over their faces. The love they feel for each other bubbles up and spills out all around them when they cuddle or tease each other. It’s so lovely.
Takara & Kevin – If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times… you are dream to photograph. Your display of love is so rich and honest. I’m excited to see how your sweet smiles grow even bigger on the day you become husband of wife. Your wedding at the Westin will truly be a long-awaited celebration! Until then… – Kate
