Their love of music brought Lauren and Jacob together. From high school choir to musicals, music gave them opportunities to know each other. That season built the friendship that would eventually become the foundation of their marriage. Though it wasn’t apparent to them at first, it wasn’t long before they realized the connection between them was special. It was so special, it was worth cherishing and continually pursuing – even when Lauren went away to college. That resilience brought them here, preparing for marriage, 6 years later.

 

When Lauren told me her vision for her and Jacob’s wedding was bright and natural with peony and ranunculus florals, my heart skipped a beat. Big fluffy flowers truly bring out the romantic in me. I knew from that moment we’d be a great fit. We kept the garden theme by heading to Inniswood Garden Metropark for their engagement session. Even though Inniswood was mostly green by August, we found a few spots with large, colorful flowers. With the right angles and even a small patch of flowers can look like full blooming garden. Including those flowers was a great way to make their engagement session personal to them.

 

Lauren and Jacob also made their E-session personal by bringing their sweet French Bulldog, Piper, to join them for a few portraits. Lauren sent me photos of Piper before we met, but nothing prepared me for how cute she really is. I think you’ll agree when you see the sweet expressions on her face.
