Dayton, Ohio has so much to offer – brick streets, historic homes, wrought iron fences, and gorgeous parks. It’s also home to Sami and Cody. When they inquired about an engagement session in the area, I was so excited to finally explore some new areas of the city I haven’t yet. (I’ve got a list a mile long of new places to photograph.)
We began their portraits at the Oregon District, a historic part of the city just outside the heart of downtown. There were so many shops, bars, and restaurants. You could spend a whole day there and not experience it all. There’s also a Catfe. Yep, that’s right…a coffee shop complete with cats you can snuggle while you sip. The Oregon District made the perfect backdrop for a romantic and fun E-session.
From there, we headed to Cox Arboretum for some garden portraits. I loved Sami and Cody’s wardrobe for this one. Blush and blue always make a great combo, but it worked especially well with the colors of the flowers. As we walked around, there was such an ease about these two. I could have spent the next three hours photographing them but I’ll have to wait for their wedding day for more.
Sami & Cody – You two are naturals in front of the camera. I love your smiles. I love your ease and humor. Thanks so much for trusting me to capture your relationship on camera. I’m so excited for your celebration at The Buckeye Barn in the fall!! I just know your personalities will make your big day so much fun!
